Silobela Old People's Home
The Jairos Jiri Association Silobela Old People’s Home is a care centre located approximately 66 km from Kwekwe and 75 km from Gweru in Silobela. The centre currently accommodates 25 inmates, although it has the capacity to house up to 56 residents. The centre provides rehabilitation and welfare services to elderly people aged 50 years and above, as well as individuals living with permanent disabilities.
However, at present, some residents below the age of 50 are also accommodated due to need.
The centre was established in 1967 by the late founder Jairos Jiri, whose vision was to support vulnerable individuals through rehabilitation and care. The main goal of the centre is to provide rehabilitation services that help restore residents’ lives to a normal or near-normal state, while also ensuring their daily welfare and well-being.
