Jairos Jiri Association is a registered Non-Governmental Organization for persons with disabilities. The organisation was founded in 1950 by the late Mr Jairos Jiri MBE MA Hons, the Association. JJA’s niche is on the realization and full exercise of the rights of persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe. JJA rehabilitates, educates, trains and empowers boys, girls, women and men with disabilities annually through its various centres and programmes that include inclusive schools, inclusive vocational training centres and the Community Based Inclusive Development programs nationwide.

The Association runs centres where children with disabilities get treatment, care and education. These centres include inclusive primary schools providing access to quality, inclusive and competence-based curriculum. It runs enterprises that employ both persons with disabilities and those without disabilities throughout Zimbabwe. These enterprises units serve as hubs for inclusive skills training and development for young women and men, youth with disabilities and without disabilities.

While addressing the above key issues, the enterprises contribute to sustainability of JJA works. It also offers care homes, which provide accessible accommodation and care for the elderly and young persons with disabilities. JJA established orthopaedic workshops that produce artificial limbs and walking appliances for the Association’s clients and for the general populace. It has in response to the need of its clients also set up satellite orthopaedic workshops in its operational areas to provide service access closer to home for persons with disabilities.
